Every day in Florida, children are removed from their homes to protect them from abuse and neglect caused by the adults that are supposed to love and provide for them. They need a loving family who is well prepared and able to help meet their needs. They require a family that is willing to work towards family reunification and, when appropriate, provide a permanent family through adoption.
In 2016, an average of 47 children per day enter into foster care. At the end of 2016, there were more than 26,000 children in Foster Care.
There are currently 400,000 children in the foster care system and roughly 300,00 churches in the United States. If every Church had at least one foster family, then there would be more than enough families to aid the growing number of children in need of a home and support. Churches could enter the foster care system and decrease these numbers drastically, with the hope of eliminating the growing numbers of children in foster care.
