Careportal

Take meaningful action on the platform that's connecting the largest network of caring people to meet the needs of kids and families in crisis.

CarePortal provides entry-level opportunities to connect caring people in churches to vetted needs of families in their community.

This network notifies participating churches of real-time vetted needs of families and children in crisis. Each notification provides a church an opportunity to respond with immediate support by meeting tangible needs and creating the potential to develop life-changing connections.

Together with CarePortal, Florida 1.27 has helped to reshape the focus of church engagement and support by leading more churches into learning about and serving historically overlooked needs of children and families within the child welfare system including: kinship care, reunification, and prevention / diversion.

Florida 1.27 is focused on growing the CarePortal network throughout Tampa Bay which includes Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties.

#1

Point Person: One of the important roles that meets real-time needs

The church’s point-person is the lead of the CarePortal network for their church and is made aware of all vetted needs within their area entered by caseworkers.

#2

Response Team Members: Additional important roles that meet real-time needs

Multiple church response teams are aware of the requests and can deliver tangible items to the family in need. They attend a training on how to best serve and love a family who may be in crisis.
